Robbie plays for hour in reserves
Robbie Simpson was eased back into action with an hour-long appearance for Latics' reserves in this afternoon's 2-1 win at Burton Albion.Though Simpson (pictured) was an injury-time substitute at Colchester last Saturday, his previous competitive action had been at Bournemouth three weeks before that as he had been resting a groin strain.
Young winger Chris Sutherland picked up a knock to his right knee which forced him off at half time, but Latics are hopeful it is not serious.
Striker Matt Smith played 45 minutes, but it was always the intention for him to feature for only half the game.
