Legends win as £6,000 is raised
Latics and the charity Once Upon a Smile have raised approximately £6,000 for the victims of the recent gas explosion in Shaw.A crowd of 1,489 was at Boundary Park to see Latics' Legends play a Once Upon a Smile X1.
Legends, whose side was managed by Joe Royle, included Andy Goram, Andy Ritchie, David Eyres and Paul Dickov.
They edged a 4-3 victory against a soap side which included Eastenders' Ian Beale and Danny Miller, from Emmerdale.
