Thanks to volunteers

The volunteers who gave an amazing 1,000 hours of their time to help give Boundary Park a summer makeover were rewarded at yesterday's npower League One match against Shrewsbury Town.

The fans were invited to the game and at half time made an appearance on the pitch where they were each handed a certificate of appreciation from the club.

The volunteers spent 11 weeks sprucing up the ground. They used 150 litres of paint which was donated by Johnstone's. Premier Hire also loaned a power washed.

A number of the volunteers have continued to give their time since the season kicked off.

Voluntary work undertaken included:

* Catering kiosks cleaned and painted, inside and out.

* Structural repair work to catering kiosks.

* Wall in front of the Main Stand painted.

* Police control room painted.

* Main Stand corridor painted.

* Turnstiles power washed and painted.

* Lockers in the changing rooms repaired.

* Every seat in the stadium - 10,638 - were cleaned.

* Stairways were safety painted.
