Cisak set to return

28 November 2012

Latics seek to cut short loan

Latics will speak to npower League One rivals Portsmouth today to cut short the loan of goalkeeper Alex Cisak.

Dean Bouzanis' sending off at Doncaster Rovers means Cisak (pictured) is needed for Saturday's FA Cup with Budweiser, second-round tie as they meet last night's opponents for a second time in four days.

Cisak was only loaned to Pompey last week for one month making his debut in last Saturday's 1-1 draw at Coventry City.

Latics inserted a 24-hour recall clause which they will be seeking to invoke as they need Cisak while Bouzanis serves a three-match ban.

To add to Latics' woes, dependable defender Cliff Byrne is also ruled out of Saturday's cup tie after collecting his fifth booking of the campaign last night.

And with James Tarkowski resting problems with his feet, Latics also have central-defensive worries.
