Schoolboy plays against England
Latics' schoolboy Danny Byrnes last night made his international debut for Wales.The youngster was in the Wales under-16's side which lost 1-0 to England in the Sky Victory Shield at Port Talbot.
Byrnes, a pupil at St Thomas More RC School, Denton, started wide left in the match which was televised live.
He was described by the commentary team as Wales' best player in the opening half.
Byrnes picked up a knock late in the first period and was substituted midway through the second half.
