Supporters Liaison Officer appointed
In line with a major new UEFA directive,
Latics’ Commercial Manager Jenny Warburton has been appointed as the club’s new Supporters Liaison Officer.
The SLO will act as a point of contact for fans, and liaise with the club's management on issues they raise.
Following a review by the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee, all Football League clubs must appoint a SLO who will be responsible for delivering the club's policy to supporters.
Jenny (pictured), who has been a supporter of the club for many years, is relishing the challenge saying: “Two-way communication between the club and the fans is important
. Fans are the life blood of the club and we will be trying to maintain and improve relationships.”
Alongside heading the commercial department, Jenny’s role will be to administer queries from fans regarding all aspects of the club including the matchday experience, quality of service given by OAFC and any other
non-playing matters.
Jenny is currently putting together a structure of communication with supporters and implementing the best practices from the Football League.
"We genuinely want to provide the best possible matchday experience to our fans who are the best source of information to help us do this effectively."
She continued: “This is an opportunity, not only for the club to take on board genuine concerns, but also for the fans to be more involved.
