Youngster named in squad
David Mellor has been called into Latics' squad for tonight's npower League One match at Hartlepool United.The 19-year-old (pictured) is added as cover due to left-back Jonathan Grounds being ruled out through a one-match ban.
Mellor only yesterday returned to Boundary Park after a one-month loan at non-league Chorley for whom he made nine appearances.
He has made only one appearance so far this campaign for Latics at Chesterfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, a contrast to his debut season in 2011/12 when he made 24 first-team appearances.
Captain Dean Furman and vice-captain James Wesolowski, both suspended on Saturday, are added to the squad.
Manager Paul Dickov has intimated both players will return to the starting line up.
"It is only when you lose both at the same time you realise how much you miss them. It was apparent on Saturday," he said.
Grounds is the only exclusion as Latics take 21 players to the North East tonight.
