Manager's praise for replacements
Paul Dickov believes he has ready-made replacements for banned duo Jose Baxter and Cristian Montano.Baxter and Montano each picked up a fifth booking of the campaign in last night's 2-1 win at Hartlepool United which had triggered an automatic one-match ban.
Latics' manager says the three substitutes at Hartlepool staked a strong claim for starting spots in Saturday's home npower League One match against Shrewsbury Town.
Youssouf M'Changama, Matt Smith (pictured) and scholar Chris Sutherland all impressed.
Dickov said: "We had players who came on and did ever so well.
"Youssouf came on and started wide left, then played in the middle of a three and finished wide right and showed his versatility.
"Young Chris did well and Matt Smith was magnificent."
Still on the disciplinary front, Cliff Byrne and Lee Croft are one booking away from a one-match ban and four players have already served suspensions this season - Jean-Yves M'voto, Dean Furman, James Wesolowski and Jonathan Grounds.
