Latics' pair on international duty
Latics' pair Dean Furman and Tomos Clarke both had little to cheer on international duty.Furman (pictured) played 80 minutes for South Africa who lost 1-0 to Zambia in the Nelson Mandella Challenge.
It was described as a disappointing display from South Africa, though they were up against the reigning African Cup of Nations Champions in Johannesburg.
Clarke, meanwhile, played for Wales under-17's who lost 3-1 to Estonia.
Remember this was the match which a couple of weeks earlier was abandoned through snow.
UEFA ruled Wales returned to Estonia to play the remaining 54 minutes of the Euro's under-17 qualifying group.
Wales held a 1-0 lead when the match was called off, but lost as Estonia won through to the Elite Round while Wales finished bottom of the four-country group.
