Clarke's Euro mission

Latics' youngster off to Estonia

Fresh from appearing for Latics' reserves against Walsall yesterday, 16-year-old Tomos Clarke is today joining up with the Wales squad.

They are heading for Estonia which is hosting a qualifying round for the under-17's UEFA Championships.

Wales will be joined by England, Northern Ireland and the hosts.

Wales, who are managed by Geraint Williams, play Northern Ireland on Sunday, England on Tuesday and Estonia next Friday.

Clarke, who only joined Latics from school in the summer, has made great progress and is already appearing regularly in the reserves as well as starring for the youth team.

The only dampener is that Clarke will be away for Latics' FA Youth Cup, first-round tie against Accrington Stanley next Friday night at Boundary Park.
