Two schoolboys in youth-team squad
Latics have Joe Cooper (pictured) back after a lengthy injury lay off for tonight's FA Youth Cup, first-round tie against Accrington Stanley at Boundary Park, kick off 7pm.It will be Cooper's first match for almost two months following an ankle injury.
Cooper's return is a lift for Latics who will have a depleted line up with five players out.
Luke Simpson and Michael Brewster are injured, Tomos Clarke away with Wales under-17's, Chris Sutherland on first-team duty and Tomos Jones one day too old.
Latics are so depleted they will only be able to name four of five permitted substitutes, one of whom will be striker Haydn Foulds who only resumed training this week after a long injury lay off.
They won't have a replacement keeper as Simpson and under-16's player Luke Brabin are both injured. Striker Luke Wandless would take over in the event of anything happening to Joel Coleman.
Two schoolboys - Ryan Ellison and Danny Byrnes - are named in the 15-strong squad.
Squad: Coleman, Edwards, Truelove, Cooper, Ellison, Poxon, Gosset, Pritchard, Kinder, McIntosh, Wandless, Foulds, Hardman, Bove, Byrnes.
Admission tonight is £4 for adults and £2 concessions and only the Main Stand will be open.
