Centre of excellence teams tackle Dale

It was derby day for Latics' Centre of Excellence teams who played Rochdale.

And there were victories for the under-10's and 12's

The under-10's edged a thrilling game 5-4 having been 2-1 behind at the end of the second of the four quarters.

Ben Fox scored twice, Niall Dolan struck a spectacular overhead kick and Louie Bull found the net along with a trialist.

Goalkeeper Tom Heyes also pulled off some important saves for Latics. 

The under-12's triumphed 8-5 in an action-packed match.

There were two goals apiece for John Shellion, Harry Quick and Tyrese Sinclair while Adam Lomax and Jahed Mohammed also found the net.

Robert Watson scored a hat trick for Latics under-11's who were involved in a thrilling 6-6 draw against Rochdale. 

Matthew Knott and William Roberts also found the net while there was also an own goal. Omar Drameh was player of the match.
Goals from two trialists could not stave off a 4-2 defeat for Latics under-16's.

Niall Platt headed Latics under-14's in front against Rochdale, but the Spotland side hit back to record a 2-1 victory with the winner a wonder strike 10 minutes from time.

The under-nine's were involved in five-versus-five and seven-against-seven games.

They lost 7-1 to Dale in the sevens' game with Kian Broadbent scoring their goal.

The matches involving Latics under-13's and 15's were both postponed.
