Latics' Ladies hit goal trail
Oldham Athletic Ladies recorded a resounding 13-1 win against Ashton United Ladies yesterday at Chapel Road in the Greater Manchester Women's Football League Division One.
Lauren Steel scored four of her five goals in the opening half when Latics established a 10-0 lead.
Shelby Newton also completed a first half hat trick while the remaining opening-period goals came from Danielle Martin (2) and Sophie Neal.
Steel, Gemma Smith and Kim Shaw, with a terrific 30-yard free kick, added to the goal tally in the second period.
Unfortunately Ashton were only able to field nine players and were without a recognised goalkeeper.
