Latics win favour in cost of football survey

The cost of watching football at Boundary Park compares favourably to other clubs in npower League One according to the BBC Sport Price of Football survey.

But the survey doesn't include offers like the £10 junior season tickets.

Under-16's can watch Latics' home matches for just 43 pence.

And youngsters can watch a game and buy a programme, pie and cup of tea for just £7.63.

The cheapest day out at Boundary Park, which includes an adult ticket, programme, pie and cup of tea costs £26.20 which is £3.60 cheaper than Leyton Orient which is the most expensive.

Latics' cheapest adult season ticket is £303 while at Bournemouth the cost is £361.

As for the most expensive it is £399 compared to Colchester whose most costly is £501.

The cheapest adult ticket at Boundary Park is £19 whereas at Leyton Orient it is £23.

The most expensive adult ticket at Latics is £20, but at Bournemouth, Colchester and Sheffield United it is £26.

The cost of a pie at Boundary Park is £2.50 which is £1 less than at Bournemouth and Portsmouth.

Likewise, the cost of a cup of tea at £1.70 is 40p cheaper than at Preston.

The BBC Sport Price of Football Survey has found the cheapest adult tickets in the top four divisions has risen by 11.7 per cent in the last 12 months which is more than five times the rate of inflation to an average of £21.24.
