Town turmoil for Latics

1 October 2012

Heavy defeats for youngsters

Latics' suffered three heavy Centre of Excellence defeats against Huddersfield Town as the under-nine's, 11's and 13's were all well beaten.

Robert Watson scored a hat trick and Jayden O'Donnell also found the net as under-11's lost 10-4.

Coach Craig Large explained that the scoreline wasn't a true reflection of the game with the difference being Town's clinical finishing.

The under-nine's lost 9-5 with Kian Broadbent scoring twice while the three other goals came from trialists.

Coach Pete Wild hopes his under-13's will learn valuable lessons following an 8-0 defeat against Town.

The under-10's, 12's and 14's all saw their matches cancelled through waterlogged pitches while the under-15's and 16's had no games.
