Latics' fans star in film

10 September 2012

Hundreds become extras

Hundreds of Latics' fans took part in the filming of 'Full Time' at Boundary Park over the weekend.

And for one of them - Ian Lowe - he struck up a friendship with on one of the stars Chris Langham.

Shaw-based Ian and Chris (26) even exchanged telephone numbers with Chris saying he will try to get to watch next month's Latics' npower League One match at Crawley Town.

Ian said: "We were filming a football chant and I used one I randomly made up on our visit to Portsmouth.

"I was sat behind Chris and he turned round and asked me about it.

"We talked a lot, exchanged numbers and he told me he will try and come to our game at Crawley."

Ian, who works for Online Bathrooms, Royton, was among the fans who applied to be extras and who filmed crowd scenes on Friday and Saturday, both inside and outside Boundary Park.

And it was a case of working well into the night as part of the film involved night scenes so that took part under the floodlights.

The film, which is being produced by Honlodge Productions, starred well-known actors Chris Langham, Kieran Hill and Huw Higginson as well as actress Margot Leicester.

It explores the relationship between a father and son who struggle to find common ground while watching a football match together.
