Mellor, Sutherland on the mark
Latics' reserves produced an excellent display as they recorded a 2-1 win against a more experienced Hartlepool United side in their Central League fixture at Chapel Road.David Mellor and Chris Sutherland were the goalscorers.
Mellor broke from midfield to thump home a 25-yard drive to put Latics ahead early in the game.
Pools equalised, but Sutherland conjured the winner after an hour, a brilliant solo effort.
