Youngster stars for under-11's

Robert Watson scored a hat trick as Latics' under-11's defeated Shrewsbury Town 4-0 with Raphe Barber also finding the net.

After a goalless opening quarter, Latics established a 3-0 advantage by half time, Watson scoring all three goals.

Barber added the fourth goal in the last quarter.

LATICS' under-14's came from behind to beat Shrewsbury 2-1.

Harry Fairhurst equalised with a screamer from 25 yards and James Beck hit a later winner in what coach Chris Rowney described as a "brilliant performance."

THE under-15's drew 1-1 against Shrewsbury but could have snatched victory as Emmanuel Abubakar and Brandon Quintino wasted great chances late in the game.

Latics fell behind, but equalised through a goal from a trialist.

They could also have lost the game, but for a fine penalty save by keeper Chris Renshaw.

THERE was a high scoring match involving the under-12's who lost 9-5 to Shrewsbury.

Latics were 4-1 down after the opening quarter, but fought back brilliantly to make it 4-4 by the break.

They hit the bar and post in the third quarter before falling 5-4 behind to a goal on the break. Latics tired in the last quarter conceding four further goals.

Latics' goalscorers were Tyrese Sinclair (2), Alex Hunt, Elliot Cooke and a trialist.

KEATON Williams scored eight goals in 45 minutes for the under-10's, but they were small sided five-a-side matches played on two pitches.

Both Latics' teams recorded emphatic victories.

THE under-nine's were involved in four-versus-four games against Shrewsbury so there wasn't any actual scorers.

Latics' youngsters played well and created many chances in the games.
