Manager on reserve-team defeat
Lee Duxbury was left to reflect on what might have been as Latics' reserves lost 1-0 to Chesterfield in their Central League fixture at Chapel Road.Latics' reserve-team manager was satisfied with his side's performance, though obviously not with the result.
Duxbury, whose side lost to a 40th minute Jacob Hazel goal, thought he side played some good football.
There was scope for improvement, though, as he explained: "There was no end product to our game in the first half, but we worked their keeper more in the second period.
"There was also a phase in the first half when we took too many touches and were frequently caught in possession.
"In light of the conditions, however, I thought it was an entertaining game and we played some good football.
"I was pleased with our performance, though obviously not with the result."
