Youth-team injury blows

8 September 2012

Casualty list increases

Latics' youth-team players Joe Cooper and Haydn Foulds are facing lengthy injury lay offs.

The pair will discover on Monday whether they will need surgery.

Centre-half Cooper has a hairline fracture of his ankle and will be out for a minimum of six weeks.

Cooper will learn on Monday, though, whether surgery will be needed which would mean an even lengthier lay off.

Foulds was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital today with a suspected broken ankle after being hurt in today's youth-team game against Macclesfield Town.

The midfield player will return to hospital tomorrow and see a specialist on Monday.

The full extent of the damage won't be known until the swelling goes down.

Danny Gosset (ankle) and Will Kinder (calf) were both also injured today.
