Heavy defeat for Latics' Ladies
Latics Ladies had a day to forget as they were beaten 12-1 at Middleton Athletic in the Greater Manchester Women's Football League, Division One.It was a hugely disappointing and error-strewn performance in which they managed only one shot on target in the whole game.
That resulted in a goal as Lauren Steel's shot was beaten out by the home keeper and Gemma Smith latched on to the loose ball and saw her goalbound effort take a deflection and loop over the keeper.
Latics were 4-0 down at the break and completely fell apart in the second half.
Middleton's scorers were: Carter 3, Leech 2, Hurndall 2, O'Connell 2, Hensall, Golding, Hius.
Latics are away to Uppermill on Sunday at a venue to be confirmed.
