Baxter relishes being given armbandJose Baxter's leadership qualities were praised by Lee Johnson as he was appointed Latics' captain for the final npower League One match of the season at Leyton Orient.
Latics' manager turned to Baxter (pictured) in the absences of James Wesolowski, Cliff Byrne and Robbie Simpson who have all held the position in recent weeks.
Johnson said: "I enjoyed seeing Jose thriving with the responsibility of being captain.
"I gave it him because I wanted the good Jose and I wanted him to be a leader in his performance, and he did that very well.
"Where he is in his career, he needs to take that responsibility to take his game to another level."
