Manager has switch lined up for Kirk
Lee Johnson is considering a permanent switch to the front line for Kirk Millar.
Latics’ manager has been impressed with the 20-year-old (pictured) who has until now has almost exclusively played as a winger.
"He is a little pest, in the nicest possible way, and players like him are worth their weight in gold, especially when a team is lagging as Bury were on Saturday."
Johnson brought on substitutes Millar, who has made four starts and 22 substitute appearances for Latics, and Matt Smith who transformed the match.
He continued: "I likened it to a heavyweight boxing match and then we brought a tag-team partnership with our two substitutes which managed to knock them out.
"That was the difference on the day, the strength and quality of the squad."
