Baxter rescues point for Latics
Jose Baxter rescued a valuable point for Latics from their bottom-of-the-table npower League One clash against Colchester United at Boundary Park.
The former Everton player (pictured) scored his 14th goal of the campaign for Latics.
Baxter's strike midway through the second half cancelled the first-half goal from Drey Wright which had given The U's the lead.
The start to the second period remained as scrappy and disjointed as the opening half.

Latics had a chance to equalise in the 63rd minute when Lee Croft crossed from the right and James Wesolowski's goalbound shot was blocked by Magnus Okuonghae.
That was soon followed by a double substitution as Connor Brown and Lee Barnard were replaced by Bobby Reid and Jordan Obita respectively.
Latics conjured an equaliser out of nothing as Croft crossed from the right and Baxter headed in at the far post in off the underside of the crossbar.
There was a let off for Latics when keeper Dean Bouzanis had to scramble a Bryan Wilson free kick round the post for a corner.
And from Wilson's dead ball, Jabo Ibehre headed against the crossbar.
Latics had a great chance to take the lead with 10 minutes left when James Tarkowski's free kick was headed on and Baxter volleyed over from seven yards.
Full-time: Latics 1, Colchester United 1.
