Delight for Danny
Danny Philliskirk scored on his debut for Latics' reserves who drew 1-1 at Wrexham in their opening match of their Central League, West Division campaign.The trialist could not have wished for a better start as he found the net in the opening minute with a header following an excellent run and cross from Jack Truelove.
Wrexham equalised after half an hour when keeper Luke Simpson could only help a shot from Rob Ogelby into the net.
Latics could have regained before half time after Truelove set up James Wesolowski whose shot was cleared off the line.
Philliskirk could have won the game for Latics with five minutes left when his shot flashed just wide of the upright.
It was a useful workout bearing in mind some of Latics' players had not had a full 90 minutes so far.
