Mills sets Latics' goals

16 August 2013

Manager sold club to me

New-signing Joseph Mills is looking forward to playing games during his loan spell with Latics.

The Burnley left-back (pictured) wants to play as many games as possible during his 28-day loan at Boundary Park.

"The main objective is to play games and to impress," explained the 23-year-old.

Mills only learned of Latics' interest yesterday explaining the loan deal was quickly completed.

"I spoke to the manager (Lee Johnson) yesterday and today and he sold the club to me. I cannot wait to get started," he explained.

He jumped at the chance to play games having yet to feature for Burnley this season.

Mills played in pre-season games for the Clarets and has been included in squads, but has not featured in their matchday 18.

He arrives at Boundary Park with the experience of playing in the Championship for Southampton, Doncaster, Reading and Burnley.

It was hardly a surprise Mills became a professional footballers because his three elder brothers were/are professional footballers.

Matt is at Bolton Wanderers having played for Manchester City and Reading while Jamie was once on the books of Swindon Town and Jonathan-Paul was at Southampton.
