Posh date excites Murray

17 August 2013

Coach looks for second win on the road

Though Posh completed an emphatic double over Latics in 2010/11 – they won 5-2 at London Road and 5-0 at Boundary Park – Latics have a decent away record to Posh as between 2000/09 they won twice and drew five times in seven visits.

“We have changed a couple of little things - I don’t think there is any need for anything major at this stage - and hopefully we can get a positive result.”

“We have analysed them and I am sure we can give a good account of ourselves. They are great going forward , but are vulnerable at the back due to the fact they really go for it. That is what we have to exploit.

Murray said: “We know they score goals – 10 in three matches and have only conceded three – so know it is going to be a tough match.

Posh have beaten Swindon and Notts County in the league as well as putting five goals past Colchester in the Capital One Cup.

Latics’ first-team coach admits, though, his side will have to be at its best to end Posh’s 100-per-cent record from three competitive fixtures.

They will be looking for a second away win of the campaign following their opening-day success at Stevenage.

Paul Murray believes Latics can cause an upset in today’s Sky Bet League 1 match at high-flying Peterborough United.
