Keeper out to impress

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Paul Rachubka is playing for Latics' reserves in this afternoon's Central League, West Division match against Tranmere Rovers.

The 32-year-old (pictured) has been training with Latics for the last couple of weeks.

Rachubka is a free agent having recently left Leeds United. He has also played for Charlton Athletic, Huddersfield Town and Blackpool.

Latics were fielding a strong side which included Sidney Schmeltz, Anton Rodgers and Danny Philliskirk.

Two trialists, a central defender and midfield man, were also seeking to impress.

Team: Rachubka, Belezika, Truelove, Joksts, Trialist, Trialist, Schmeltz, Rodgers, Millar, Gosset, Philliskirk. Subs: Cooper, Coleman, Sutherland.

* This afternoon's match is at Chapel Road, kick off 1pm.
