Debut for Lanzoni, first start for Schmeltz
Latics handed new Italian signing Matteo Lanzoni a debut in this afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 match against Tranmere Rovers at Boundary Park.International clearance was secured in time for Lanzoni (pictured) to make his bow at right back in place of the injured Connor Brown.
Dutchman Sidney Schmeltz was handed his first start for the club as he replaced Cristian Montano.
Lanzoni and Schmeltz for Brown and Montano were the two changes from the side which kicked off against Port Vale last Saturday.
