Mighty Dragons at Boundary Park

They will form a guard of honour when the teams take to the field and at half time will get the chance to play on the pitch.

The youngsters will be appearing at Boundary Park for this afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 match against Port Vale. 

Mighty Dragons under-nine's are Oldham Athletic Community Trust's Team of the Week.

 

Here is a little more information about the team:

 

This season the Mighty Dragons will be entering the Manchester Youth and Mini Soccer League.

Mighty Dragons under-nine's started with seven children in March 2013 but under coaches Ian Laidler and Lee Boyling,that number has grown to three teams with 25 players in total.

 

The Mighty Dragons are a new grassroots club based in Failsworth and were only recently formed in January 2011. Since then they have gone from strength to strength. At present they have a variety of different age groups:

 

         * ·One under-six group

         * ·Three under-nine groups

         * ·One under-11 group

         * ·One under-12 group

         * ·One under-15 group

         * ·One open-age team.

 

Through the hard work and dedication of Christopher Cooper, Margaret Littlewood and Hayden Foy they have not only built a friendly club but also a club that takes any child of any ability to fulfil their playing needs.
