3D Dynamo Dragons at Boundary Park

This afternoon Oldham Athletic Community Trust welcome 3D Dynamo Dragons to Boundary Park as 'Team of the Week' for this afternoon's Sky Bet League 1 fixture against Tranmere Rovers.

Here is a little more information about the team:

In 1992 Val and Dave Broadbent, along with their friends Allison and Wayne Holroyd, had an idea of starting a football club so their sons could play in a league along with their friends.

A meeting was held in Delph Club with the attendance astounding everybody. From that meeting three teams were established and entered into the Tameside League for the 1992/1993 season at under-eight, 10 and 12 as 3D Dynamos was born.

Following this success, Dave Driver launched 3D's soccer school every Sunday morning for four, five and six-year-olds at the Woolpack pitch. From this soccer school Dave`s son Andrew emerged and he later went on to represent England at under-21 level. Andrew currently plays in America for Houston Dynamos.

The soccer school is still thriving and they now also have their own vets team, the 3D Dinosaurs.

The club has gone from strength to strength and now, in its 22nd season, they boast 18 teams ranging from under-sevens through to open age.

From two sets of friends talking football over a drink in the club a success story emerged - 3D Dynamos FA Charter Standard Development Club!

The team representing the club today are 3D Dynamo Dragons who are one of two under-nine teams who play in the East Manchester Junior Football League.
