Preston away in opener
Latics under-18's kick off their Football League Youth Alliance, North West Conference campaign tomorrow at Preston North End.The match takes place at Chorley FC's Victory Park (PR7 3DU), kick off 10.30am.
It is a tough opener for Latics as Preston usually have a strong youth team.
Academy Manager Tony Philliskirk has received some cheer with goalkeepers Joel Coleman and Paul Tyson available after injury.
Latics had to borrow a keeper from Scunthorpe for last Saturday's friendly.
Haydn Foulds, Kyle Hardman, Jordache Walters and Will Kinder are ruled out while Danny Byrnes is a doubt through a knee injury.
Jack Truelove will also feature as long as he is not needed in the first-team squad.
