After half-time, Coventry began to find a way back into the game, with midfielder John Fleck impressive for the Sky Blues. Oldham battled well, until Carl Baker’s fantastic overhead kick brought the scores level on 73 minutes. The goal inspired the Sky Blues on, and a period of domination culminated in a in a number of wasted chances by Coventry’s forward players and committed defending by Latics.
Oldham fought well throughout and their efforts were nearly rewarded towards the end of the game. Mike Petrasso again caused havoc, bringing  a smart save out of Joe Murphy. Adam Rooney and Jonson Clarke-Harris also had headers comfortably saved.

Both sides survived late onslaughts, but Athletic held on for another deserved away point on the road.
