Latics lose to Tigers
Latics under-18's were punished for defensive mistakes as they lost 2-1 at Hull City in the second round of the Youth Alliance Cup.It was an encouraging performance but for the lapses which proved costly.
Latics found themselves 1-0 down at the break as Hull intercepted a bad Latics' pass to break clear to score.
Jordan Bove had a penalty well saved as Latics could have finished the half on level terms. It was awarded after Danny Byrnes was brought down after a mazy run.
Latics equalised through a goal from Devante Jacobs who produced a lovely turn before firing a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.
Hull scored their winner in the last minute, again after a defensive error.
