Latics extend unbeaten run

Latics extended their unbeaten run to seven matches following a 1-1 home draw against Bradford City in Sky Bet League 1.

Lee Johnson's men continued where they left off in November when they were unbeaten.

Nahki Wells gave City the lead at Boundary Park only for Jonson Clarke-Harris to equalise with a terrific strike.

Latics, who resumed with the score 1-1, had a great chance to take the lead when James Tarkowski (pictured) headed not far wide from a James Dayton corner.

Ellis Plummer marked his debut for Latics with a booking for a foul on winger Garry Thompson.

New loan-signing Plummer, who was living dangerously after committing another late challenge, was replaced by David Mellor while Adam Rooney came on for James Dayton as Johnson rejigged his side.

Sidney Schmeltz produced a superb turn before bursting forward only to shoot disappointingly wide.

Latics made their third and final change in the 73rd minute when Schmeltz made way for Michael Petrasso.

Clarke-Harris had a chance when a blocked shot fell to him on the left of the box. Whereas he scored from a similar position in the first half, this time he blazed high into the Chaddy End.

Petrasso also had an opening after cutting in from the right before firing narrowly over the crossbar.

Bradford had a goal attempt  in the 89th minute when a shot from Kyel Reid was palmed away by keeper Mark Oxley.

Full-time: Latics 1, Bradford City 1.
