Six changes for Latics

Latics made six changes to their starting line-up for tonight's Johnstone's Paint Trophy, Northern Area Quarter Final against Chesterfield.

Midfield general James Wesolowski (pictured) was passed fit after recovering from a hamstring strain.

Defender Genseric Kusunga was back after completing a three-match ban while there were recalls for keeper Paul Rachubka along with David Mellor and Michael Petrasso in midfield and Jonson Clarke-Harris up front.

The players to lose out were the injured James Dayton, Mark Oxley, Anton Rodgers, Ellis Plummer, Sidney Schmeltz and Adam Rooney.

Chesterfield were without joint top scorer Gary Roberts through a hamstring injury.

Latics (4-4-2): Rachubka; Lanzoni, Tarkowski, Kusunga, Grounds; Petrasso, Smith, Wesolowski, Mellor; Clarke-Harris, Philliskirk. Subs: Oxley, Rooney, Winchester, Rodgers, Plummer.

Chesterfield (4-2-3-1): Lee; Talbot, Evatt, Cooper, Humphreys; Hird, Ryan; Darikwa, Banks, Doyle; Richards. Subs: Togwell, Devitt, Chapman, Gnanduillet, McSheffrey.
