Latics play Walsall

Latics played Walsall in their latest Centre of Excellence matches with the under-14's enjoying an emphatic 6-3 victory as they inflicted a first defeat of the season on the Saddlers.

Niall Platt scored twice including a penalty while there were also two goals from a trialist. The remaining goals came from Brad McLaughlin and Mason Fallon.

It was a good performance from Latics who were 3-0 ahead after 15 minutes.

There was an equally impressive 4-1 victory for the under-10's with Ben Fox scoring a hat trick and Niall Dolan also finding the net following a great win and performance.

The under-11s were involved in a goalless draw in a game in which Oldham played the better football, but Walsall created the clearer-cut chances.

A goal in the dying minutes condemned Latics to a 1-0 defeat to Walsall. Jack Burgess and Tommy Lent played well for Latics.

The under-15's drew 1-1 against Walsall, a game in which both defences stood firm for most of the match.

Latics' goal came from a trialist.

John Shellien and Harry Quick were on target for the under-12's who lost 5-2 to Walsall.

The under-nine's were involved in small-sided games with keeper Zach Heaton making some brilliant saves.
