Day of hat tricks
Four Latics' Centre of Excellence players scored hat tricks on a day of goals against Carlisle.The under-12's recorded the highest score as they defeated the Cumbrians 9-1.
There were trebles from Harry Quick and Joe Crabtree while the other goals came from Tyrese Sinclair (penalty), Kai Hilton and John Shellion.
It was described as an excellent team performance in which Crabtree and Shellion were outstanding.
The under-13's were in seventh heaven as they overcame Carlisle 7-3 with four goals netted by Mwiya Malumo and three by Festus Arthur.
Latics were 6-0 ahead at half time, but conceded three goals in 12 minutes in the third quarter to allow Carlisle to get a toe hold back into the game.
There was a 4-0 success for the under-14's through goals from James Beck, Brad McLaughlin, Harry Fairhurst and a trialist.
Carlisle scored a last-minute consolation, but manager Derek Ogden described it as an excellent performance.

The under-nine's played a series of five-versus-five games and won them all, though no scores were kept.
The two defeats were suffered by the under-10's and 11's.
The under-10's created a lot of chances, but were caught continuously on the break as Carlisle posted a 4-0 victory.
Goals from William Roberts and Matthew Knott could not stave off a 4-2 defeat for the under-11's.
