Byrne, Brown visit Trust's holiday programme
Latics' first-team players Cliff Byrne and Connor Brown spent the afternoon with the children attending Oldham Athletic Community Trusts half-term holiday activity programme at Hodgeclough Primary, Moorside.
The players spoke to the children about the life of a footballer and the cup games against Premier League sides Liverpool and Everton. After the question and answers, the players also spent time taking part in the activities with the children.
"Visits like this will hopefully create fans for the future."
Byrne said: "It was fantastic to spend time with the children and answer their questions. There is a real buzz around the town which is evident by just how excited the children were.
"We have a lot of Latics' fans spending the week with us and, after the recent games against Liverpool and Everton, there were plenty of questions and excited faces in the room."
Wendy Noble, the Trust`s administrator, added: "It was a complete surprise to the children that Cliff and Connor were visiting them and a fantastic moment when the players walked in.
The half-term activities are running all week, with places still available. If you require more information, contact Wendy Noble on 07949 107580.
