Winchester, Wesolowski and Byrne to be assessed
Latics were today assessing the severity of the injuries sustained by Carl Winchester, James Wesolowski and Cliff Byrne in Tuesday's npower League One win at Stevenage. And the good news is that Winchester's ankle injury appears less serious than initially feared.
Winchester (pictured) left the Lamex Stadium with his foot in a protective boot and on crutches as it was thought he had damaged ankle ligaments.
However, Winchester's ankle has massively improved since Tuesday and there are hopes he will make a speedy recovery.
Wesolowski came off with a tight hamstring and Byrne retired early with a groin strain.
