Oasis Academy represent Latics
The Oasis Academy Oldham under-13 girls' football team represented Oldham Athletic in a tournament at Barnsley FC’s Oakwell Stadium.
The area final of the npower Girls Cup saw the girls compete for the chance to play in the regional final against teams from across the North of England. The national final will take place at Wembley Stadium in April.

Oasis Academy Oldham PE teacher and sport coordinator Sarah Walters said the girls had displayed determination and commitment.
"Our player of the tournament was Kelly Hinchcliffe and the girls showed fantastic fighting spirit and enjoyed playing at a professional football ground.”
“Although we didn’t win, the girls performed brilliantly. Rebecca Turner scored a goal to put us into the lead against Middlesbrough which was cruelly snatched away in the dying moments.
She said: “This was a tough competition involving some very talented under-13 footballers from the North of England.
Oasis Academy Oldham principal David Hayes congratulated the girls on reaching the tournament.
"They earned the privilege of representing the area and they did so with tenacity. The girls should be proud of themselves.”
