It's another home draw if we can get past Everton - caretaker manager

Caretaker Manager Tony Philliskirk is happy with Latics' draw against Wigan Athletic in the quarter finals of the FA Cup with Budweiser.

Philliskirk (pictured) said: "First and foremost we have a difficult fifth-round replay at Everton.

"If we get through that, it is a good draw for the club, another home tie against Premier League opponents and a local derby.

"Ideally we would have liked Manchester City or United away which would have been great for the club financially, but an enormous hurdle to overcome.

"With our draw, there is a distinct possibility we would give Wigan a good game and get through to the semi final."

Philliskirk was delighted with his team's performance in the 2-2 draw against Everton.

He said: "While Liverpool had the likes of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in their side against us, Brendan Rodgers fielded a youngish team.

"David Moyes had his strongest side so, to perform as we did against one of the top Premier League clubs, was a fantastic achievement."

Philliskirk added that to see the name of Latics, the lowest ranked team still left in the competition, on the same sheet as some of football's biggest clubs in the quarter-final draw, was great for the profile of the club and also the town of Oldham.
