Wesolowski, Winchester out for Latics
James Wesolowski and Carl Winchester are ruled out of Latics' squad for tomorrow's home npower League One match against Portsmouth through injury. Both players were hurt in the midweek win at Stevenage where Wesolowski retired early through a tight hamstring and Winchester with a damaged ankle.
Wesolowski (pictured) has had a precautionary scan on his hamstring and the good news is that it is not serious and was probably caused by a neural spasm in the muscle.
It has improved but it has been decided not to risk him with so many games to be played. He is likely to be available for the FA Cup with Budweiser, fifth-round replay at Everton.
An x-ray has revealed no problem to Winchester's ankle after it was feared he had damaged ligaments.
He left Stevenage on crutches with his foot in a protective boot, but he has been given the all-clear and he, too, should be available on Tuesday.
Caretaker Manager Tony Philliskirk says the Portsmouth game has come too soon for both players.
Four players are added to the squad which travelled to Stevenage - Paul Murray, Daniel Taylor, Glenn Belezika and David Mellor.
Squad: Cisak, Brown, Grounds, M'voto, Tarkowski, Croft, Furman, Iwelumo, Simpson, Bouzanis, Smith, Obita, Byrne, Murray, Barnard, Taylor, Baxter, Millar, Belezika, Mellor.
