Pitch protection system in place
After the valiant efforts of groundstaff and volunteers to clear snow from the Boundary Park pitch, the protective 'bubble' is now in place which ought to safeguard Sunday's FA Cup with Budweiser, fourth-round tie against Liverpool.
The 'bubble' had due to be installed on Monday, but the delay was caused by hundreds of tonnes of snow having first to be cleared from the surface.

The pitch protection system, which involves the inside of the 'bubble' being heated, will defrost the pitch.
The current state of the playing surface and sub-zero temperatures forecast for the rest of the week meant that Latics requested use of the MacLeod Pitch Protection System provided by the Football Association through their contractors Sports & Stadia Services Limited.
