Dean helps South Africa to victory
Latics' captain Dean Furman was restored to South Africa's starting line up and was named man of the match as they defeated Angola 2-0 in the African Cup of Nations.Furman, a non-playing substitute in the goalless draw against Cape Verde in their opening group game, won a recall and anchored the midfield in the victory which leaves Bafana Bafana within touching distance of the knockout phase.
Many of Furman's team mates from Boundary Park watched the game.
Vice-captain James Wesolowski said: "Dean came in, made an impact and was rightly named man of the match.
"Hopefully when he returns he will bring back a winning mentality to our team."
