Dickov on Liverpool cup draw
Paul Dickov is looking to build on the feel-good factor after Latics drew Barclays Premier League giants Liverpool in the fourth round of the FA Cup with Budweiser.Latics' manager (pictured) wants his players to gain confidence and believe from their 3-2 victory a npower Championship club Nottingham Forest and transfer that into their league campaign.
He said: "We need to take our performance against Forest, especially in the second half, and take the confidence and belief into our league games.
"It shows that if we show the right attitude and desire we can cause problems for any team.
"The most pleasing thing for me was our heart and desire. If we display that, we have shown we can play good football.
"It was a credit to the boys as Forest have top players, are three points off the play offs and have aspirations to get into the Premier League."
Dickov describes it as a fantastic draw for Latics and anticipates a "great buzz" around Boundary Park as was the case when they were drawn to play at Liverpool last season in the third round of the cup.
He said: "To draw Liverpool is fantastic and it is a great draw for everybody connected with the club, especially fans.
"The support we received at Forest was phenomenal and to see Liverpool at Boundary Park is massive for them.
"There were lots of reasons why we wanted to draw a big club, and they don't come much bigger than the one we have been given."
