Latics under-18's suffered a late collapse as they were beaten 3-1 by Huddersfield Town in a friendly at Chapel Road.Luke Wandless gave Latics a 1-0 first-half lead from the penalty spot.
Latics could have extended their advantage when Danny Gossett had what appeared a legitimate goal disallowed.
The Terriers rode their luck and their second-half substitutions changed the game as they produced a late fightback in which they scored three goals in the last 15 minutes to snatch victory.
It was Latics' youngsters first game since November and was a much-needed workout.
