Shooting practice with a difference
Latics' squad are today completing their three-day stint as squadies.
They have been experiencing Army life on Merseyside at Altcar Training Camp where they have been undergoing team building and bonding as well as physical challenges as shown in the pictures.
The programme has included an Army Personal Fitness Assessment, leadership and command tasks, the infamous Altcar obstacle course, night navigations exercises and drill.
Action-packed days have started with a 6am reveille and activities lasting into the night.
Altcar Training Camp is owned and managed by the North West of England and The Isle of Man Reserve Forces and Cadets Association and includes the UK's premier facilities for small arms marksmanship training.
The estate covers 250 hectares (620 acres) of beaches, sand dunes, fields and small woods and the security surrounding the site creates a genuine sanctuary area.
Altcar Training Camp is available for hire, along with over 40 other venues within the North West's 'Volunteer Estate', sites housing local Naval Reserve, Territorial Army and Auxiliary Air Forces.
Venues can be used for training, conference, exhibitions and more, and hire charges are used to improve facilities for the Volunteer Reserve Forces and Cadets in the region.
