1 July 2013

Mimms, Steele arrive at Boundary Park

Latics have made two additions to their backroom team.

Bobby Mimms has arrived at Boundary Park as goalkeeping coach and Lee Steele as fitness coach.

Both have joined on short-term contracts with a view to them being extended.

Mimms (49) has a wealth of experience as goalkeeping coach at Wolves (2001/08) and Blackburn Rovers (2008/12).

During his playing days, Mimms spent most of his career at Everton, Tottenham and Blackburn Rovers. He also appeared for England under-21's.

Steele (39) is a former striker who has been working as a fitness coach in private practice since his playing days came to an end.

He has known Latics' manager Lee Johnson since they were team mates at Brighton.

Steele, who is from Liverpool, enjoyed success playing for Shrewsbury Town, Brighton, Oxford United and Leyton Orient.
