Dutch delight for Latics
Dutchman Sidney Schmeltz opened the scoring as Latics built a hard-earned 2-0 half-time lead in their pre-season friendly at non-league Curzon Ashton.
An own goal from Connor Hampson doubled Latics' lead in an evenly-contested opening period.
Latics opened the scoring in the 12th minute after centre-back James Tarkowski made a brilliant break down the left wing.
Tarkowski cut into the box and squared a pass for Schmeltz (pictured) to sweep high into an empty net.
